It is a splendid place to hike. Not only are there colorful rock formations, but one can find the ruins of cliff dwellings on some of the trails.

It is in Arizona, just south of Flagstaff. The red rocks surround the city of Sedona and there are many interesting hikes. Unfortunately, development is encroaching on some of the pristine areas, but it is still well worth a visit. I hope you get there some day!

If you and I ever get back to Sedona, I will take you up to Cibola Mittens. My last two pics are from that hike. 'Twas splendid! (I never got fall pics that satisfied... but next autumn look out!)
