This morning
I am watching the bluebird
amuse himself
sweeping over the grass,
parading into the sky
of this one world we all belong to-
where everyone and everything
will someday be a part of everything else
I like to think he was smiling
like I remember you-
your smile, your laugh
drenched in enthusiasm
head thrown back-
all being right with the world
where peace comes free
and easy.
This thought made me feel
for the rest of the morning,
like smiling myself.

Sail with me!
I've received the warmest of winds to which I gratefully cling like a lazy sail
cruising through a sea of wildflowers
(daisy's, to be exact, but feel free to insert your own favorite here)
This vessel does not dance, nor does it frolic or fritter or skip
...it drifts.
Unmoored from the moorings of life, I wait for the stars to chart my course
but I'm not choosy about where this vessel takes me
How could I be?
How could I question the currents that move the wildflowers to and fro, back and forth, swirling them playfully before moving on?

It's good to just be. To breathe the warm air (eyes closed for best effect
He talks to Comets
tells them Secrets and Tales
they listen with rapt attention
sometimes crashing and burning
sometimes passing innocuously
through the Universe
Sometimes, the Comets tell their own tales
streaking tails of tales across the night sky
passing sleeping cities, flying over pastures
we watch with rapt attention
sometimes crashing, sometimes burning
but never innocuously
We wish, we hope, we dream
of catching Comets in a jar,
keeping them like wildflower jam
and spreading them on brainy toast
and savoring every Cosmic bite
But, He talks to Comets
tells them they belong among the stars
to sail away and find a new lover

This morning I stand in the advancing light
My mind hungry, this world beautiful.

Writing you a poem makes me feel like a child again.
How do I articulate the world that mothers
embrace us in, and love us in
one that extends for decades and miles.
Those remarkable mother arms
that can soothe anything-
And those mother hands that can iron out any problem
and sew together a family.
I‘ll always remember sliding into crisp, cool sheets and you by the side of my bed
Eskimo and butterfly kisses-
they always co
